I had a friend write me last night asking to see photos - of anyone or anything - because my images make her happy. The fact that I was doing something from afar that was helping someone else was something I had not remotely considered, even as I was scrolling through Instagram in the hopes of curbing my own anxious feelings that were multiplying by the minute - trying desperately to momentarily forget the highway of stresses running through my mind. That friend was Taylor, the beautiful mama in these images. It was only appropriate that she and her precious boys should be the focus of this post. Ever-uplifting and encouraging, she has supported me personally and in my business since the first time we met at a shoot. Taylor, I cannot tell you how much that little request meant to me and how it brought things into perspective. I have been scrambling for days to figure out how I can be of help to my loved ones and perhaps this is the best way for me to do that - to continue on what I'm already doing and remind us all of the love and beauty that exists all around us.
One of my favorite quotes - and the one I have hanging above my office workspace - is by Elsie de Wolfe: "I'm going to make everything around my beautiful - that will be my life."
So today, this week, this month, I will focus on bringing more beauty forward for all our eyes - for we need to see lovely things in the face of chaos.
